On the train, in the street, in line at the grocery store, etc. Not just during the holiday season, but always. The one thing that I would add to this is that in the daytime you want to be direct. Maybe you start off with a statement and lead into a question, but within the first couple minutes of the interaction you should make a statement of intent. I like to pretend to lose myself in her eyes, then cut her off mid sentence with a "you are SOOO, fucking CUTE. I'm going to get to know you. I'm Hammer."
